This section has been enhanced to present a more inclusive overview of the bridge-building activities of the King Bridge Company in various sections of North America. The company claimed to have built over 10,000 bridges all over the continent in the first three decades of its operation as stated in the sales catalogues of the late 1890s. Most have long since disappeared. However, through the efforts of many visitors to this website, we have been able of identify at least 115 structures that are still standing and in use in one form or another. Thus for each of the regions, we have included not only the bridges that exist today, but also a sample of the important bridges built by the company that have since disappeared but may have played an important role in the development of the particular region’s transportation infrastructure. Many of these were pictured in the company’s sales catalogues or in other historical documents. Some of the descriptions also appear in other sections of this web site. We hope to update this section periodically with new information furnished by our visitors as it becomes available.
